We just had a very informative meeting with Wells Fargo about one of the many programs that they have to offer to prospective buyers. This particular program caught our interest and attention in that it allows a buyer to purchase a home and never make any mortgage payments the whole time they live in the house. Is this smoke & mirrors or what? How is that possible? Well it is as we understand it. This is an age restricted program in that you have to be at least 62 years old to qualify. Now this program may not apply to you specifically, but you may have a family member, friend or co worker that it could work for. Briefly as we understand it lets say you just sold that big 4 bedroom family house and you want to downsize. You find that you have a sizable amount of cash from the sale of the property but you don't want to put it all in your new house, and don't want to have a mortgage payment. What you do based on your age the price of the new house and some other factors that are taken in to considerstion Wells Fargo will tell you what you have to put into the purchase and whatever cash that is left is yours to save, spend, invest etc. and you will have no mortgage payments on that house for the rest of your life. That's it in a nut shell.
